The Hellenic Society of Positive Psychology (EETHEPSY), to which this website belongs, is committed to users respecting your privacy and being vigilant for the proper observance and operation of its security systems in order to protect your personal data.


And when we mean you, we mean the user of our website, who registers on our website, obtains an account, in order to provide you with personalized information and update services by sending an informative email (Newsletter) or informative notifications, through which we inform you for any information related to your preferences, as they have been registered by you on the electronic platform of our website.


The purpose of this privacy policy and the personal data protection statement included in it is to inform you about the type of personal data that our Company collects from you, how we process (collection, storage, use, transmission) your personal data, how are protected, as well as the rights you have against this processing, which in any case is carried out in a reliable and transparent way.

What information we collect about you and how we use it


We collect information about you when you provide it to us and in particular when you use our services by registering your details


  • in the online user/member registration form of our website,

  • in the online membership registration form of EETHEPSY with an annual subscription,

  • in the electronic form for registering a member of EETHEPSY in a working group,

  • in the electronic form for updating membership information of EETHEPSY,

  • in the electronic registration form for scientific events-conferences - other activities of EETHEPSY,

  • in the online contact form.


The term "personal data" as used herein refers to information such as name, specialty, email address, etc., which can be used to identify you. EETHEPSY will not process your personal data without your consent.


Depending on the services you use and the required information you fill in, respectively, in each of the above electronic forms, EETHEPSY may collect the following types of data:

After registration, the above data can be viewed / modified at any time by the user / member himself using his personal password or upon submission of a relevant request.


We need the specific personal data in order to a) provide our services to you by sending informative newsletters and alerts, b) to recognize you in order to provide you with personalized information and updates, c) to detect and prevent illegal actions, d) to ensure that you are an adult, e) to establish that you meet the criteria for registration as a member of EETHEPSY, according to its statutes (e.g. degree in Psychology).


A. Newsletters & e-mails to you


When you register on the EETHEPSY website, if you wish, you will receive periodic informational / promotional Newsletters via e-mail.

To be able to subscribe to such Newsletters via e-mail we need your contact details, such as your name and email address. You can unsubscribe from the Newsletter receiving lists at any time you wish. The corresponding hyperlinks are provided both on the Website and in the Newsletters themselves. Your deletion will take place within two (2) working days. If you experience difficulties with the automated deletion process, please contact the EETHEPSY Secretariat, at Paioniou 2 and Acharnon, who will undertake to carry out your deletion within three (3) working days.

In some cases, by clicking on a hyperlink or advertisement in an e-mail or Newsletter, your browser may momentarily be directed to a third-party website, which operates with the consent of EETHEPSY (see Disclosure to Service Providers and Content, below), notes or counts your response to the e-mail or Newsletter before redirecting your browser to the desired destination. This redirect process will not be visible to you.


B. E-mails you send to EETHEPSY


This Privacy and Personal Data Protection Statement does not apply to the content, professional information, ideas, thoughts or scientific papers that you send to EETHEPSY by e-mail. If you wish to keep content or business information, ideas, thoughts or inventions private, proprietary or proprietary, please do not email them to EETHEPSY.

Data Collected by Third Parties Not Acting on behalf of EETHEPSY


Sponsors or advertisers on EETHEPSY may use their own Cookies, Web Beacons or other online tracking technologies in their advertising listings that appear on our website and in the e-mails, special promotions or Newsletters we send you. In no way will we exploit your information or pass it on to third parties outside our Company without your consent, except in the cases noted in this Policy. And access to your personal data is allowed only to authorized persons - our partners who are required to have access to serve the operational needs of EETHEPSY.


In order to provide you with our services, we will share your personal data with certain third party companies, who act on our behalf (processors) by providing us with hosting and bulk email services in order to provide you with the best possible service ( legitimate professional purpose / business need / scientific information). EETHEPSY ensures the processing of your personal data by the partners-third companies with contractual clauses limiting the purpose of processing and compliance with the GDPR technical and organizational measures for the correct and safe processing of your personal data. However, the Affiliated Companies will always respect your choices about who can access your data and provide adequate guarantees regarding the protection of personal data. Those of the above who have access to your data are obliged to observe their confidentiality.

In the event that the disclosure of personal data to a third party is deemed necessary for any reason, EETHEPSY will make every effort to ensure that the data is processed in accordance with the purposes and within the limits for which the data collection took place in the first place.

A. Updating Your Personal Information

It is clarified that in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, you must send proof of your identity with your request and you will receive a response within thirty  (30) days of receiving the request.

C. Restrictions on Updating or Deleting Personal Data


If you request to be deleted, your Personal Data will be deleted from our active databases as well as backups where possible. You should keep in mind that it is not technologically possible to delete each individual element of the information you have provided to EETHEPSY from our servers.


Retention of data


How long we keep the information we collect from you depends on the type of information. The information deemed necessary during your registration is retained throughout the period of time that your registration as a user-member of our website continues. In each use, we will make every effort to ensure that your information remains secure, having already taken all the necessary technical and organizational measures for this purpose.


If deemed necessary to comply with our legal or regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our terms and conditions of use, we may retain some of your data as required, even if the account is closed or no longer exists need to provide services to you.


What are your rights and how to access and control your information

Personal Information and Children


a. Most of the information offered by EETHEPSY's websites is aimed at people aged 18 and over. In the event that minor users voluntarily visit pages with inappropriate / offensive / immoral material and which cannot be controlled continuously, EETHEPSY bears no responsibility.


b. EETHEPSY will not knowingly collect, use or disclose personal data from minors under the age of 18, without first obtaining the consent of their parent or guardian. For our part,  we provide the guardian: j) notice about the specific type of personal data collected from the minor and ii) the opportunity to object to further collection, use or storage of such information kind of.


c. EETHEPSY does not knowingly collect personal information from minors under the age of 18. If it finds that it has collected any personal information from a minor under the age of 18 without prior parental consent, it will delete the information from its database as soon as possible.


d. EETHEPSY complies with the legislation on the protection of minors and any relevant provision of the law.

Except as stated below or as agreed by you, EETHEPSY will not disclose any Personal Data it collects from you through the Website.

If you decide to unsubscribe from a service or communication, we will try to delete your data as soon as possible, although we may need some time and/or information before we can process your request. EETHEPSY reserves its rights to retain your personal data in those cases where it has a legal obligation or the exercise of legal claims or the fulfillment of its contractual obligations.
