Meeting at Psathopyrgos of Achaia

MEETING OF THE POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY RESEARCH GROUP IN PSATHOPYRGO OF ACHAIA

With unprecedented success, the established annual meeting of the Positive Psychology research group took place from Friday, September 30th to Sunday, October 2nd. -136bad5cf58d_

The initiator and leader of the group, Mr. Stalikas, the PhDs, PhD candidates and post-doctorates as well as potential new PhD candidates were present and contributed - each in their own way - to the successful completion of this scientific meeting.

In this context, the participants had the opportunity to discuss issues that arose during the year, share their thoughts, exchange opinions and refer to the changes and developments that have occurred in the field of Positive Psychology both in Greece as well as globally.

The difference of this seminar  compared to other similar ones lies in the fact that it consisted of the founding members of Positive Psychology in the country,  who have contributed decisively to its development_cc781905-5cde-3194 -bb3b-136bad5cf58d_ of the relatively new but rapidly growing branch of Psychology as well as the fact that it was not held in some cold and sterile conference room   as usual but in a magical place _cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_where the participants had the opportunity to enjoy the sun and the sea.

The meeting started with the speech of the founder of the Hellenic Society of Positive Psychology and Professor of Psychology at Panteion University, Mr. Stalika, who spoke about the importance of Positive Psychology and positive emotions in everyone's life. The baton was then passed to the PhDs who  in turn spoke about their experiences during the research and writing of their PhD thesis while the PhD candidates presented their research progress and referred to their findings as well as their future goals.

A very pleasant event was the announcement of some of the doctors that they will continue to work  hard and be part of the team as postdoctoral candidates. Therefore, all attendees had the opportunity to witness their new plans for further research and share with them the passion for contributing to the scientific community.

On the other hand, the potential PhD candidates presented their fields of interest, referred to terms and concepts that impressed them and were lucky enough to receive comments, advice and guidance from the experts.

The topics analyzed in the context of this meeting concern terms such as self-compassion, mental resilience, friendship, enjoying it, positive learning, the contribution of positive emotions to cardiovascular diseases, the meaning of life, acceptance therapy- engagement, positive aging and the importance of positive psychology and positive emotions in business.

Finally, we would like to thank all those present and it is worth mentioning that similar actions are carried out at regular intervals by the Hellenic Society of Positive Psychology (EETHEPSY) which promotes Positive Psychology in Greece. EETHEPSY warmly invites all those who wish to work in the field of Positive Psychology to express their interest in participating in its activities.
